The beach of Oostkapelle
One of the main reasons for which many tourists book a holiday each year in Oostkapelle is the well-kept and spacious beaches that are directly adjacent to the village. Both in summer and winter the beach is frequently visited for swimming, sunbathing, walking, surfing, horse riding or simply enjoying the beautiful view while enjoying a snack and a drink!
Bicycle- and walkingroutes
Numerous cycling and walking routes offer the perfect combination of a sporting and cultural holiday in which you can see a lot of the surroundings. Well-maintained bike paths make it possible to take a bike ride along the coast and visit villages such as Westkapelle, Zoutelande and Vrouwenpolder. There are also routes for hikers through the forest and over the dunes. Of course you can also go out and discover the Zeeland landscape by bike or on foot.
The Oostkapelle forest
Westhove Castle is located in the Oostkapelle forest. A medieval castle, complete with moat and surrounded by forest. Terra Maris, the nature and landscape museum, is also located in the Oostkapelle forest. The forest in Oostkapelle offers beautiful walking and cycling routes, but also bridleways. The forest opens onto the beach at Oostkapelle and therefore remains a popular area for both tourists and locals.
Domburg
Directly next to Oostkapelle you will find the seaside town of Domburg. A well-known and frequently visited place among both tourists and locals. In addition to the beach, the center of Domburg offers numerous terraces, restaurants and exclusive shops. Surfers can't have fun in Domburg, at one of the best surf spots in the Netherlands. In Domburg you will also find De Domburgsche Golfclub, where you hit the ball at a place with an unforgettable view!
Middelburg
During a holiday in Zeeland, a visit to the Zeeland capital city Middelburg should not be missed. With an atmospheric city center, surrounded by numerous monuments, you look out in Middelburg. Pay a visit to the Lange Jan or admire the Abbey of Middelburg, then you immediately walk into the bustling center where you can enjoy a snack and a drink. Every Thursday it is a market in Middelburg, which brings extra cosiness and liveliness.
Vlissingen
Pay a visit to the boulevard in Vlissingen, where you will find the statue of Michiel de Ruyter. In addition, the boulevard offers a beautiful view of the Westerschelde. If you have become curious about the maritime history of the port city of Vlissingen, then visit the Zeeland Maritime MuZEEum, named one of the nicest outings in Zeeland. Right around the corner on the Bellamypark you will find plenty of terraces, bars and restaurants and if you walk a little further, you will find the Arsenal on the one hand and the shopping center on the other. The weekly market in Vlissingen takes place every Friday.
